  • Dr. Vaidya has received training from over 12 internationally reputed consultants and scientists in the field of Agricultural Meteorology.

Career and Professional Experience:

  • Lecturer in Crop Science and Part-time Lecturer in Meteorology:Dr. Vaidya began his career as a Lecturer in Crop Science at Amaravati, Maharashtra, and as a Part-time Lecturer in Meteorology at Shri Shivaji Agriculture College, Amaravati.

  • Senior Research Assistant/Research Associate:He worked at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Agricultural Meteorology (CASAM), Pune, under the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) and Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, sponsored project on Agro-advisory Services.

  • Assistant Professor of Agricultural Meteorology:Since September 2006, Dr. Vaidya has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Meteorology at Anand Agricultural University (AAU), Gujarat. He is involved in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Agricultural Meteorology, Environmental Studies, and other specialized subjects.

  • Research Contributions:Dr. Vaidya is actively involved in research activities, focusing on weather and rain forecasting, climate change studies, and the development of Monsoon Research Almanacs for Gujarat State. He has developed location-specific statistical models for multiple locations in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

  • Best Research Paper Award: Received the "Sipani Krushi Samshodhan Award" in 2009 from the Asian Agri-History Foundation, Secunderabad (AP).

  • Best Presentation Prize: Awarded in the “Economic Impact Category” at NDUAT, Faizabad (UP), in 2001 by DST, Government of India.

Social and Organizational Contributions:

  • Dr. Vaidya has been actively involved in social activities related to rainfall forecasting and enhancement in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. He has also written three research project proposals.

  • Vijnana Bharati:Served as State Organizing Secretary for Gujarat State (2009-2016) and President of Vijnana Bharati, Gujarat State (2016-2020).
    Nominated as a Member of the National Governing Council of Vijnana Bharati since August 2, 2020.

  • Indian Knowledge System (IKS):Nominated as an Expert Member in the Indian Knowledge System under AICTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi.

Special Interests:

  • Dr. Vaidya's expertise extends to micrometeorology, crop modeling, satellite communication, agromet data analysis, and public leadership. His extensive training and research have made significant contributions to agricultural meteorology and related fields.
